Dr. Azzam Mourad, MS Applied AI, Online Data Science

Dr. Azzam Mourad

Program Coordinator for: MS Applied Artificial Intelligence, Online Data Science

Dr. Azzam Mourad is a professor of computer science at the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics and founding director of the Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Systems Research Center at LAU.

Dr. Mourad is also an adjunct/affiliate professor at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) of the University of Québec. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Concordia University, Canada and an MSc in Computer Science from Laval University, Québec.

Dr. Khalil Mershad, Program Coordinator, Computer Science, Bioinformatics

Dr. Khalil Mershad

Program Coordinator for: Computer Science, Bioinformatics

Dr. Mershad is Assistant Professor of Computer Science at LAU. He has an ME and PhD in Computer and Communications Engineering from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and worked as a Research Director at Qatar University between 2013 and 2016.

Dr. Mershad served as the chairperson of the Computer Science Department at the Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) between 2020 and 2022. He has also been an IEEE member since 2018, where he became involved in many research projects in the fields of mobile computing, cybersecurity, blockchain and wireless networks. He has published more than 50 scientific papers in highly reputed journals and conferences related to computer science and engineering.

Dr. Faisal N. Abu-khzam, Online MS Cybersecurity

Dr. Faisal N. Abu-khzam

Program Coordinator for: Online MS Cybersecurity

Faisal N. Abu-Khzam is a professor of computer science at the Lebanese American University (LAU). He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, a MS degree in Mathematics and a BS in Computer Science from the American University of Beirut.

Prof. Abu-Khzam is the founder of the Lebanese Collegiate Programming Contest (LCPC). His research in parameterized complexity theory has led to some of the best-known data reduction methods as well as the current-fastest exact algorithms for some classical combinatorial problems. His research interests include Parameterized Complexity Theory, Data Analysis, Parallel Computing and Artificial Intelligence.
